Welcome back to Florida! My husband and I visited for 12 days in June, 2019. Over the past two weeks, here at Inspy Romance, we’ve toured Castillo de San Marcos at St Augustine and had a look at some Florida shorebirds. Today we are going to enjoy some sea and sky, like this spot in the Flagler Beach area on the Atlantic side.

Storm coming in on Manasota Key! That was the one time I shoved the camera under my tank top and we ran for it… and came in soaked, anyway. The camera, thankfully, survived.

Hi Valerie! Thanks for sharing. Florida ocean is similar to our inland seas or Great Lakes. During this pandemic nice to do arm chair traveling. Having lived within a mile of Lake Michigan, I enjoy watching the waves. Since we have had no reported cases of the virus in our county, but libraries and all public events have been canceled; I hope to keep my sanity with a few drives by the beach (weather permitting). Cold today. Best wishes and health to all our authors and readers.

Beach skies are the best!
Patty says
I’ve been to Florida a time or two, but never really for a nice beach vacation. I guess it’s a bit of a drive for us, especially since we have some beautiful beaches her in South Carolina.
Lori R says
I have never been to Florida.
Trudy says
I know people that come to watch the sunrises on the Atlantic Coast, then drive 2 and a half hours over to the Gulf side to watch the sunset!! Of course, that’s possible from certain part of FL, but for others, like the Panhandle, it’d take you longer to drive from one coast to the other!! I’ve been to a couple of the islands in the Indian River and watched the sunset from there. All of the different colors are beautiful, and then to see the reflection in the water is so cool!! Only God can do that with His beautiful colors!

Great photos, Valerie! I have never been to the Gulf side of Florida, thanks for sharing!

Florida storms like to sneak up and pour down quickly! Glad your camera was safe.
Valerie Comer says
We did! Always fun to hang out with my sisters. We played A LOT of hand-and-foot as well!

When I’ve visited my sister in Wisconsin, I keep thinking it just doesn’t smell right! Looks like the ocean, but no chance of seeing whales. ;)
Valerie Comer says
Aren’t they, though? :)
Valerie Comer says
We’ve gone twice for sisters’ reunions, and it IS nice to wander in and out of warm water. For beauty, though, I love the wild Pacific coast, especially on Vancouver Island. The water is ice cold so it’s not as attractive that way!
Valerie Comer says
There are many, many places I haven’t been, either. :)
Valerie Comer says
That’s funny, but sure, why not?!?! Yes, God paints the most gorgeous sunrises/sunsets.
Valerie Comer says
One of these fine years you must grab a weekend getaway on the other side :)
Valerie Comer says
There were a lot of storms that week, and we didn’t want to sit inside all the time. But that particular storm nailed us! We had plastic grocery bags in our pockets for carrying shells. That time, one of the bags went over my camera… after shaking out excess sand from the trip before!
Caitlyn Santi says
Lovely photos! I’ve never been to the beach, I live in VT so no coastline close by but I hope to one day visit the beach in one of my neighboring states! 😊
Lincoln says
Sunsets!! Like the little boy started his prayer, “Our Father, Who does art in heaven…”
Lincoln says
Hand-and-foot?
Valerie Comer says
The ocean is glorious, Caitlyn! Go see it :)
Valerie Comer says
LOVE that!

A team card game played with 4 or 6 players. Since there are five sisters, we always had to rope in one of the hubbies! Usually found a willing one. http://www.gocampingamerica.com/blog/how-play-card-game-hand-and-foot

I love the Pacific coast! The furthest south I’ve seen it, though, is Eureka, California.
