Happy April!
Until the second week of March, I would have said this year was flying by. But now? It feels like everything has slowed down quite well. In fact, maybe just a tad too much? The days are all starting to blend together for me. What about you?
I will say, this has been some outstanding reading time! And we’re doing better about making time for family game night (more than once a week, at that) and family movie nights. Just…more connection all around.
Do you have any bright sides from the slow down that self-isolation has brought?
Today is also Palm Sunday — and I wouldn’t want that to pass us by without mentioning it. It’s very different worshiping online in general, but especially during Easter. Still, it’s a fantastic reminder that Christ didn’t come to die so we’d have a building. He came to die so we could have a relationship with God. And aren’t we all so grateful He did?!

My life hasn’t changed much, as I worked from home before. The only thing that has changed is now I want to go to the Mall!! I haven’t been to the Mall in months, but I want to go now! A friend told me she said the same thing. Since we’re being told to stay home, we want to go places!! Isn’t that just human nature, though. Parents tell their children not to do something, and then they get in trouble for doing it! Isn’t it wonderful we can “do” church anywhere! I do miss seeing my friends, and getting hugs, though!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
I’ve had to struggle against the desire to go out too – not because I need to but because I’ve been told not to. Human nature is so contrary.
I definitely miss worshipping together!

I watched our church service online this morning, but it’s just not the same!

We just finished! I will say that my youngest is doing so much better paying attention during service at home than at church in the building.

Palm Sunday greetings. Blessed is He Who comes in the name of the LORD! Our church has been live-streaming the morning service for a while but our Sunday School class has only recently started using Zoom for getting together. Other classes are now following suit. If you aren’t familiar with Zoom, you may want to check it out. Free options are available but are limited to 40 minute sessions. It has worked well for us. During this Holy Week, may you be able to focus on the love of the Father, through the person of Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Love Zoom! We’ve been using it for our small group.

My middle came home from college. He’ll be attending his classes online, and it’s nice to have him home.
