Welcome to the last camping trip — er, Sunday — in July! This week’s photos were taken eleven months ago at a little lake on the British Columbia/ Washington border. We’d planned another campout for early July this year, but life happened, so I dug back in my archives for an earlier excursion! I love this lake since it is big enough for paddling but small enough to circumnavigate easily. I also love it because of the high alpine smells and the wildlife we often see, like this moose on the far side of the lake our first morning.

Here’s a look at the lake with the fog dissipating. The moose and deer photos were taken clear across on the other side! I love my camera. And I love this spot. Here’s hoping we’ll be headed back there later this summer…

Nice photos. I crossed the border from Vancouver to Washington state. The border check point asked if I had food and I said some candies and vegemite. He said and that hardly counts as a food. I loved watching the scenery.

Wonderful pictures Valerie! I especially love the moose one, what a sight that would have been. :-) I also love the firepit and little wood pier in the background with your kayak all ready to go. I’m relaxed just looking at them!
I had few of these books already, but picked up a couple of more. Thanks for the link!
I, too, love seeing the fog shrouding the landscape. We have that often here on the Oregon coast where I live. It’s both eerie and beautiful at the same time! I hate when it dissipates because it’s just so lovely to see. I hope you do get to go back later this summer, it looks so peaceful and relaxing!
Happy Sunday everyone! Hope you all have a blessed week

I love the fog, too. In November, we hit the coast at Arcata, California, after dark and woke up the next morning to such dense fog we joked we weren’t even at the ocean! It did clear off somewhat as we drove north, but by the time we got to Cape Perpetua, it was closed in again. The spouting horns were just visible, so eerie! And then we had to turn inland to get home the next day.

Our kids were stationed in Alaska at one point and they asked me “You know what they call little sports cars up here? Moose ramps.” Such fun.
Beautiful pics as always. Thanks.

He could see how stressed I was. On the bus they said non Canadians had to fill in a form so to go first. But when I asked he said I didn’t need to cos I had the paperwork for Canada. Well I did have to and I thought I may so I tried to get closer to the front of the cue but the ones in front wouldn’t let me get there (I was at the back of the bus) so I get there and yes I need to fill in the form and pay to enter the States I think it was $7 and thankfully I had $10 American. But they were really caring and helpful. And yes the laugh was really helpful. I was only staying for the 4 nights so didn’t have very much luggage which was a help.
