Nice that it’s lovely and warm in both of our hemispheres at the moment. Beautiful sunshine like today’s reminds me of when I was a little girl and Grandma used to tell us the sunshine was God smiling down at us. :)
Paula Marie says
Beautiful photos, Valerie, you could probably be a professional photographer!
Trudy says
Beautiful pictures!! Some of my favorite memories are when we visited my uncle’s in NW GA and we’d sit outside on the swings and watch the sunsets.
Valerie Comer says
Mmmm, same could be said for a gentle rain :)
Valerie Comer says
I do love taking photos (as might be evidenced here…) but I’m okay with it being only when I feel like it!
Valerie Comer says
I absolutely adore porch swings. That’s why so many of my characters have one!
Trudy says
Me, too!! We have a glider on our porch now, since the swing we had was getting rusty. We ended up giving it away, so it’s still going strong! I couldn’t move it by myself, either, which was also a problem, in case of hurricane!
Margaret Nelson says
Love the cloud pictures!
Teresa Tysinger says
A great round-up of posts! I heard once that small rainbowS that appear in cloud like in one of your photos is light reflecting off ice crystals hanging out in the cloud. I’m not sure that’s true, but it’s neat to think about how science and beauty correlate.
Valerie Comer says
Good points. A glider is definitely close enough!
Valerie Comer says
Me, too! So expressive :)
Lincoln says
Clouds and sunsets have been favorite subjects in my own photography over the years and these are absolutely gorgeous, Valerie. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks also to Liwen for her contest of which I am one of the winners. You all make participating in the IR community both fun and a blessing as well.
Valerie Comer says
That was July 12, the same evening as the photo just above it, only southeast instead of southwest. I kept stopping on the road and doing a 360 to admire the beautiful cloudscapes!
Valerie Comer says
Thank you! And also, thank YOU for participating :)
Paula Shreckhise says
Those clouds are so pretty!
Thanks for the updates.
Valerie Comer says
Thanks for coming by :)

Thank you!
Deb Galloway says
Beautiful pictures! I love both sunrises and sunsets, no better way to start and end your days. I’ve never had a porch swing but always dreamed of a wrap around porch, around 3 sides and a deck on the 4th with at least one swing! Then you can always see the beautiful skies! Thank you Valerie!
Lelia (Lucy) Reynolds says

Penelope says
Valerie, I love photos of nature! and the skies are so expressive! I often think how God’s magnificence is made known by the glory above and around us. It’s dusk here & to the East the horizon is layered in shades of navy blue, purple, pink, lavender, and blue – reflecting the sunset to the west. It’s breathtaking! I look forward to seeing your photos in the weeks ahead. :D
Valerie Comer says
Oh, that sounds beautiful!
Dianne says
Grandma’s version said rain was God’s tears when humans didn’t believe or missed opportunities presented to them. It would cleanse and centre us in his love and she would encourage us to dance in the rain of his love :)
She had lots of sayings etc that still remain with me as an expression of her love. Even after decades I still miss her. Thank you for prompting those loving memories Valerie.

Grandmas are the best!
