In early August, we spent a long weekend camping near Revelstoke, British Columbia, where we lived in the early 90s. It was great to revisit this beautiful spot with our kids, their spouses, and the grandgirls. Mount Revelstoke National Park is one of the few places I know of where you can drive right up into a sub-alpine meadow and then hike along the ridges from there.

Reader Gathering
Did you know Inspy Romance hosts a Christian Romance Reader Gathering group on Facebook? Join us… but don’t forget to answer the questions for admittance!
Early August is perfect in Mount Revelstoke National Park because wildflowers are at the height of their bloom right then. Sadly, mosquitoes were also at their height. The worst skeeters we’ve met in 2020, which made our hike much less fun.

Valerie Comer says
I’m happy to share :)
Valerie Comer says
Turkey or ham :) One thing my family sometimes does is focus on food we’ve grown on our farm or bought from a local grower. We love to be thankful for the bounty of our beautiful farming area!
A little trickier this year because Covid. Sigh! But SO THANKFUL for time together. I’m typing with a three-year-old pressed against my elbow…
Trudy says
Same things (kinda) as here, then! That little three-year-old makes things sooo much better!!! :)
Marcia says
I am jealous you got to go camping! No camping trips this year because of COVID. But I have hope for next year.

We got in a ton of camping this year, but it helps that we live within 30 minutes of some great spots, with many more within a couple of hours. Definitely a benefit of where we live and the kind of camping we like to do!
Debra Pruss says
Happy Sunday. God bless you. Happy belated Thanksgiving.
Trixi says
Happy Thanksgiving Valerie! As you know, here in America it isn’t until the end of November. Well go up to my sister-in-laws as usual to spend about 4 days. We have a wonderful little AirBnB to stay in since she doesn’t have enough bedrooms for all of us…everybody is much more comfortable that way. :-)
I love your pictures! We have mountains here too & thankfully no mosquitoes, lol! I grew up in Illinois where they were a nuisance in the summer. I certainly don’t miss them :-)
Happy Sunday Inspy Romance!

Lincoln says
The mountains cry out and the wild flowers sing,
in praise so majestic to You, God and King.
The rivers flow down into lakes and the sea.
Your glory proclaimed and it echoes to me.
A tale of such tenderness, power and grace
That reaches to all time and every place.
Just look! We’re surrounded by witness no end
To our Great Deliv’rer, our Master, our Friend.
So come Holy Spirit, reach deep in my heart
To give me the words to proclaim well my part
In God’s mighty story of loving pursuit
From death into life He’s creating sweet fruit.
No one voice sufficient, no one heart so strong
To sing the Lord’s praise all eternity long.
So join in the choir. Lift *your* voice to sing
To praise our Redeemer, our Savior and King.
