Last week I shared some of the scenery near Revelstoke, British Columbia, but there’s also a tourist trap or two in the vicinity! We took our children to The Enchanted Forest when they were little, and in August, we took the grandgirls. This is a fun place with kid-size, hands-on adventures and places to explore, like discovering what’s at the end of the yellow brick road!
We wondered how the business would handle the whole covid thing. Their approach was twofold. First, encouraging groups to stick together and leave gaps between groups, which worked amazingly well. The bonus is it meant our girls could explore without other people’s kids crowding them, and when their turn was over, it was over. No backtracking. Second, there were sanitizer stations outside each attraction. So the kids could run in, look around, touch things, then come out, sanitize their hands, and move on to the next spot.

Each of the Three Little Pigs’ houses were there in the Enchanted Forest, sized just right for kids to run inside and visit the pigs. All the houses were gorgeously designed! I kind of fancy a house of sticks, myself…

Looks like you all had an amazing time. I love them and love the opportunities to revel with my inner child :D
It WAS fun! And for those of us who react negatively to feeling crowded it was pleasant to feel like there was space around us. Bonus: we could get photos of the kids without ten other kids photobombing ;)
How fun! This reminds me of a story book town that I remember visiting as a child. I wish I could remember the name of it, but it escapes me right now🙃
Let me know if you remember it!

Found it!
Oh, that’s fun!
Wow, that looks like fun! I’m sure they’ll treasure those memories in the years to come!
I hope we all will :)
That looks like such a fun place to visit, especially for the kids! Thanks for sharing.
It was fun for everyone :)
Fun! Great way to social distance
Yes, it seemed to work well! It doesn’t hurt kids to learn not to barge in and elbow other kids out of the way. Doesn’t hurt their parents, either!
How exciting, Valerie Comer! I want to go to The Enchanted Forest too. Wish it wasn’t so far away. It seems like a wonderful place to take kids, and great how they kept it safe during Covid.
I must admit it was fun to have the grandgirls for an excuse to go! There was a childless couple in their early twenties who looked a little out of their depth LOL.
Getting outside – Good for you! Hardly anything encourages or refreshes my mindset as much as being outside – and for me, mostly in solitude w nature. It’s like God hits a “Reset” button inside me. :D I’m glad it worked out for your family to revisit a happy memory during these crazy days.
YES! If you follow my Sunday Editions over the past couple of years, you’ll clearly see how much I value nature. There is nothing like a tumbling creek, a grove of trees, or some pounding ocean surf to soothe my spirit.
What a great place to spend time with family!
Yes, it was, Natalya!
What a cute little place to take your grandgirls Valerie! I’m glad you all got to get out & explore :-)
My husband and I took the family on a trip recently as well. We rented a little AirBnB house & explored the town. Since it’s not tourist season, there were very little people around to come in contact with. We had BBQ take-out one night for dinner & bought groceries to cook the rest of the week since the place we rented had a full kitchen. We also explored the different shops & had ice-cream for a treat. It was so relaxing to get away from everything for a while!
Congrats to this weeks winners & happy Sunday everyone!
Oh, that sounds lovely and relaxing, Trixi!
Loved the “Shoe” house. There’s one near York, PA.
Cool! The girls loved the shoe! Well, they loved everything, let’s be honest.
Wow, it sounds and looks like a really fun place! how exciting , especially for the little ones. Thank you so much for sharing about it, and I’m so very glad that you got to enjoy it with your family.l Have a Great week and stay safe.
Thanks, Alicia! Have a great week, too.
Looks like a fun time.
It was, thanks!
I know that I still enjoy memories of trips I took as a youngster. I’m glad you all had a great time and built memories to share!
Yes, it’s all about building memories with the grandgirls!
It sounds like a wonderful place. When I was a child, my cousins took me to a place called Story Book Lane, I think, It close to Washington D.C. I am not sure if the name is correct. It had places to explore that was from children’s books.
Oh that sounds lovely, too, Debra!
