As November draws to a close and winter (for many of us) is on the horizon, indulge me in one last peek at summer! On August 30, my husband and I celebrated our fortieth wedding anniversary. This probably should have counted as an excuse for a big party, but hey, two introverts plus covid, and we happily spent the day with just ourselves for company! We tossed the kayaks on the truck, packed a picnic, and headed to one of our favorite sub-alpine lakes. So here’s our official anniversary photo LOL.

I don’t usually take a camera in the kayak, but I did take my phone this particular day, and I was sure glad I had! Well, actually, I wished for my Canon when twin moose calves came to the water not too far away. We couldn’t locate the mama, so we kept our distance, but it was certainly an amazing sight.

We took the scenic drive home via forestry roads we wouldn’t dare haul our travel trailer over. It was fun to see some new country and enjoy our day together. Thanks for sharing our summer camping adventures with me the past two months here in the Sunday Editions!

I think a vacation together doing what you both enjoy is the perfect way to celebrate such a special day :-) What a peaceful spot and a surprise from God, twin moose babies…how fun! I’ve only seen pictures of them, what a joy to get to see them in person.
Happy SONday everyone, God bless!

It was almost a perfect day! It would have been better if our kids and grandgirls could have joined us, but it was also great the way it was. :)

I did Valerie. Canada is beautiful, eh? I am longing to visit family ‘out West’ – not everyone will understand what that means. Have a Happy and Blessed Christmas and greetings from ‘down East’. :)
