Twas two Sundays ’til Christmas, and all through the home
there were snow globes and creches where’ere your eye roamed.
The dog tracked his mud prints all over the floor
and Nerf bullets were strewn from the boys’ latest war.
There were presents to wrap and letters to send
and several to-do lists that all had no end.
But I sat by the fire alone with my thoughts
thinking of Jesus instead of my “oughts.”
He came as a baby, grew into a man,
lived sinless and died for God’s perfect plan
to offer salvation to a world lost in sin
if we only ask for Him to come in.
We spend much of this season awaiting His birth
when His death is the reason He came to the Earth.

Great poem!! This is my first time reading the blog since Nov. 30. Dec. 1 my world started spiraling, and it stopped on Dec. 11 when my Mom went to her heavenly home. So, I’m going to be back here each day, hoping this will help bring a little normalcy back to my life. I so enjoy the blog, and look forward to it, now more so than ever.

I am so sorry for your loss. I truly understand. I lost my mother 12 years ago and still think of her each day. Praying God’s peace for you and your family.

We join you in weeping for your loss. Our hearts break for you. I know that no words are truly enough. So, when you read this, put your right hand on your left shoulder and your left hand on your right shoulder and squeeze. Repeat as necessary. Those are remote hugs from all your friends here at IR :).
