Welcome to May! I’ll be your host for the Sunday Editions in May. When this post goes live, I’ll be home from Sydney after attending a family wedding. On a perfect sunny autumn day we enjoyed the lovely church wedding ceremony followed by a beautiful outdoor reception with amazing views of Sydney Harbour. I love weddings, and the joy of a new God-centered family being created. The newlyweds love Jesus and are excited to start their new life together. We pray they’ll live their happily-ever-after for many, many years to come.
I’m also aware that many of you live in places where a family wedding celebration with a hundred guests isn’t possible. In these uncertain times, I remember David’s words in the Psalms.
5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him.
6 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
7 My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge. — Psalm 62:5-7 (NIV)

Hi Narelle! Weddings are a blessing. Since Michigan had an upsurge of Covid cases and spring is just beginning; most weddings can only have 25 guests. But as more people are vaccinated, things may change mid summer. Enjoy your Sunday. Best wishes.
Hi Renate, Yes, I hope and pray you’ll have an easier summer with less restrictions in place. Enjoy your Sunday and thanks for commenting. 😊
We’ve had great weather this week, perfect for a special occasion. So happy you were able to celebrate with them :)
We haven’t had any family weddings since before Covid. However, there could be one in our future! One of my nephews now has a serious girlfriend, so we’ll see! I have 6 nephews and 4 nieces, and only 3 of the nephews are single. Well, I guess since this one is now “taken” we have 2 available!
Hi Narelle! I haven’t been to a wedding in many years. Our area is still restricted in how many can gather outdoors and the county I live in has gone to “high” risk so indoor gatherings are also restricted. It’s been a hard year for our industry because we’re a tourist town and rely on travelers for revenue…not only hotels/motels but restaurants too. Like everyone else, I’m so ready for this to be over!
Happy Sunday IR & congrats to this weeks winners!
Hi Dianne, thank you! Yes, the weather was great and the smoke haze from the back burning of the bush land was cleared by the nor’easter breeze. I hope you enjoyed your weekend, too. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Trudy, I expect there’ll be a lot of weddings in a few years when Covid becomes a distant memory. Even planning a honeymoon is complicated because of travel restrictions and our international border remains closed for leisure travel (with the exception of New Zealand). I hope you’ll have a family wedding to celebrate soon! 😊
Hi Trixi, I really feel for the folk who rely on tourism to earn a living. It’s so hard to plan anything, including how to manage your business when you can’t predict what the restrictions will look like. I hope and pray you’ll have less restrictions soon. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Congratulations!! Enjoy.
Thanks, Debra! 😊
Hi, I love weddings also, I have not gone to a wedding for a while, there haven’t been any in the family for a while. It sounds like the wedding you attended was beautiful. May God bless their beautiful marriage . Have a Great week and stay safe.
