Happy Sunday! Today we farewell the summer Olympics. The good news for avid fans like myself is we only have to wait three years for the next summer games in 2024. Plus, those of us who love winter sports can watch the winter Olympics early next year. Do you prefer the summer games or winter games? Or, do you love both, or care for neither? My preference is summer, and I usually tune in and watch the winter games on tv.

I like the Summer games although I find the second week not as interesting and found it annoying some sports were not on tv but thankfully we had the app so I enjoyed sport climbing and a few other sports. I also like the Para Olympics which is on in a few weeks.
I do like the winter Olympics. Love the ice skating. but also enjoy most of the sports besides Ice hockey the aerial skiing and the moguls is always good to watch.
In the commonwealth countries next year are the Commonwealth games.
Watching the high jump yesterday and the Aussie Nicola McDermott was really good. She is a Christian and youth pastor and her post games interview was inspiring. She thanks God and said she would love to see stadiums full again but not just for sports but for revivals like when Billy Graham use to have. She was even able to say how she became a Christian.
Dianne says
Mmm some interesting titles released, kind of curious about Husband Auditions, lots of leeway for interpretation there, lol. Neither is my take on the Olympics, though it is wonderful to see so many people enjoying them together, even if virtually. Have a great week. :)
Lincoln says
Happy Lord’s Day, IR! Congratulations to our winners! Not much on following sports. Have a great week.
Valerie Comer says
While I rarely watch hockey or soccer (football) the rest of the time, I do enjoy them during the Olympics, especially when Canada’s teams are strong contenders! We were camping the first week of the competition, but kept an eye this past week. There are sports in each that I enjoy — the artistic ones like ice dancing and synchro swimming/diving are fun.
The rest of us could put 1% of these athletes’ dedication and focus to good use and change the world!
Trudy says
I don’t watch any of the Olympics. I’m not a big sports fan, though I do like baseball. I don’t watch any of it any more, though.
Margaret Nelson says
I’ve always enjoyed both summer and winter Olympics. There have been times when my folks decided the Olympics were a good excuse for a new TV :-) This year was frustrating – we don’t watch enough TV to justify paying for cable, so we have an over the air antenna (which can get 3 channels, 2 English and 2 Spanish). In the past we’ve been able to watch just fine. This year, someone in the neighborhood had some sort of electronic interference that meant at times we could watch for several hours just fine. Most of the time we’d have 5 minutes of good TV, and then give up and turn it off.
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
I love both!
Alicia Haney says
Congratulations to the winners. I like both summer and winter Olympics, I haven’t seen much of them this summer, but I have been reading about them, and just watched a little of them. Have a Great week and stay safe. God Bless you and your family.
Natalya Lakhno says
I prefer winter games 😊
Have a blessed Sunday!
Jessica B. says
Overall I probably prefer the summer games but figure skating is one of my favorite sports so I always enjoy watching the skating in winter.
Mary Preston says
We watched a fair bit of the summer Olympics. Looking forward to the winter Olympics next year.
Trixi says
The only thing we watch on TV is NFL football, which is starting up again soon. So I guess the category I’d fit into, is I’m not a real big sports fan. :-)
Congrats to this weeks winners! Happy Sunday everyone here at IR
Debra J Pruss says
I am not a sports fan. I do not watch either. Congratultions to the winners. God bless you.
Narelle Atkins says
Hi Jenny, Nicola McDermott’s interview was great! I did wonder how many people would be Googling ‘who is Billy Graham’? I enjoyed watching her in the high jump finals. Thanks for commenting :)
Lelia (Lucy) Reynolds says
I enjoy some of each but not as big a fan as I used to be.
Narelle Atkins says

Hi Lincoln, When I lived in Melbourne, I couldn’t escape conversations on AFL (Australian Rules Football). I wasn’t a big fan, and it was like a religion for many. Every Sunday at church either the service leader or the preacher would mention AFL. I guess they figured the AFL mentions would keep the congregation listening to the sermon. Thanks for commenting. :)
denise says
Congratulations to the winners!
I love both the Summer Olympics and the Winter Olympics.
Narelle Atkins says
Hi Val, yes, we could definitely change the world if we all had their dedication, drive, and focus. :)
