Happy Sunday! Spring will officially arrive next week in Australia. September will tease us with a few warmer days where I live in Canberra. Our annual tulip festival, Floriade, will be celebrated via smaller tulip displays across the city instead of one big festival at Commonwealth Park on Lake Burley Griffin. The cherry blossoms will bring color to the tree branches. The wattle is already in bloom, and the north-westerly winds will bring warmer weather and higher pollen counts. Those of you in the northern hemisphere will be moving into fall – my favorite season. Autumn brings less hay fever than spring, and relief from scorching summer temperatures. Do you have a favorite season? Or, a least favorite?
Our 2021 Back-to-School Giveaway is open until September 14. More information can be found here. The giveaway includes 5 paperback bundles for readers with USA mailing addresses. International readers who live outside USA can register for the international paperback giveaway here.

I like Summer and spring but Summer would be my favourite. I think cos its cricket season. But I do like the warmer spring days. I like not having to have a fire and getting out in the garden more. I like the days are getting longer but not looking forward to daylight savings starting the beginning of Oct
Hi Jenny, I’m looking forward to daylight savings starting soon. The StoryChats recordings are scheduled for early morning in my time zone, and I’m looking forward to the later start by one hour in October, and eventually two hours when daylight savings ends in North America. Thanks for commenting. 😊
My favorite season is fall so I am excited that it is almost here. I am not a fan of really hot or cold temperatures. This summer has had a lot of days in the 90’s and vert humid.
My favour season is autumn, live the crispness of the air on my cheeks, the crunchiness of the fallen leaves and yes I still jump on them. Spring brings hay fever so the perfect time to stay inside with the air con/air filtering on. Will miss Floriade and visiting my cousins, maybe next year Sydneysiders will no longer be persona non grata. Congratulations to the winners. Have a great week everyone :)
Florida doesn’t do Fall! I’m looking forward to Winter, when we finally cool off some! I used to always go to Georgia in October so I could have Fall. Now, that’s my busiest time of year with my insurance business, so I can’t go.
My least favorite season is summer because of the excessive heat and, the past few years, smoke from forest fires in the PNW. Now the smoke has (mostly) lifted (though it could return), daytime temperatures are more moderate, and the nights are cooler, so I’m happier! Also, I love winter, so there’s that.
Hi Narelle! This Michigander also likes fall. Been an above average hot and humid summer! Glad for AC! I enjoy spending time outdoors in cooler less humid weather. As Valerie stated I don’t mind winter and snow! Best wishes!
Spring and Fall are my favorites. The hot and sticky of Summer is my least favorite.
Thanks to Merrillee and congratulations to the other winners.
Have a great week!
I enjoy all the seasons. I’m usually ready for a change when the next one comes. When I lived somewhere where it was warm all the time I really missed having the seasons change. So now I enjoy all the seasons.
I think fall may be my favorite season in the US :). Here in my country, however, (Southern hemisphere) it’d be summer, since the seasons are not so clearly defined, and we don’t get to see the sun for much of the winter months thanks to the permanent overcast clouds.
Thank you to Jan Thompson for the ebook, and congrats to the other winners :)
It is still so hot and humid here in SC. I’m a fan of fall because of the weather and warmth and coziness within the home (decorations, smells). I also enjoy spring because the weather is warming up but not oppressively hot!
I like all the seasons for different reasons, right now I am really looking forward to fall for the cooler weather. Have a great weekend stay safe.
Congratulations to the winners!
We don’t really have four seasons in California where we live. I miss fall season.
Congratulations to the winners
We have our spring carnival very soon. The Carnival of Flowers will be a modest affair this year again.
Your tulip festival sounds awesome! My least favorite season is definitely winter, as the days are cold and often dreary and it gets dark early.
Happy Sunday Narelle! It’s at the end of summer for us in Oregon (well in the USA, that is) and almost the beginning of school. The kids here start the day after Labor Day in September. You can feel the parents excitement in the air, lol!
Congrats to the winners! Here’s to another fantastic week on IR!
Fall is definitely my favorite season! Here in a south Carolina it takes a while to arrive, but I am definitely looking forward to it.
Congratulations to the winners.
As you slide into Spring, we’ll be sliding into Autumn, my personal favorite season.
Hi Lori, Humidity and hot weather is not a fun combination. Enjoy your cooler fall weather soon. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Dianne, Yes, jumping on the leaves is fun, lol. The way things are looking in Canberra (we have very high vaccination rates) I’d be surprised if Floriade 2022 isn’t open to interstate visitors. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Trudy, I hope you won’t have to wait too longer for winter weather. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Valerie, The smoke definitely makes summer more uncomfortable. I usually prefer winter to summer, although a mild summer with low humidity will also work for me. 😊
Hi Renate, I hope you’ll get a break from the heat and humidity soon. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Lincoln, The mild weather in autumn and spring works for me. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Diana, It’s nice living in a place with distinct seasons. Thanks for commenting. 😊
I like the end of summer and early fall.
Hi Priscila, I’m glad we have many crisp and sunny winter days where I live. A cloudy winter would not be my favorite. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Jessica, I hope your heat and humidity ends soon. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Alicia, Enjoy your cooler fall weather soon. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Natalya, I would definitely miss fall, too! Thanks for commenting. 😊
Thanks, Angeline. 😊
Hi Mary, Enjoy your spring carnival! Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Jessica, yes, Floriade is lovely, and I like the longer days of summer. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Trixi, I’m glad your back to school is happening soon! Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Patty, Enjoy your fall season when it arrives. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Denise, Enjoy your autumn! Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Susanne, That’s my favorite time, too, and it coincides with my birthday. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Congratulations to the winners. My favorite season is Spring when everything becomes new. I would have to say my least favorite season is Winter. Nature has become asleep so the world is quiet and colorless. Thank you for all you do. God bless you.
Hi Debra, You’re very welcome. A sleepy winter day with the promise of spring and blossoms on the trees is what I’m experiencing today. It’s only 12C outside and my cat is warming my lap, lol. We’re expecting 22C on Wednesday to mark the arrival of spring. Thanks for commenting. 😊
My favourite season is Summer & least is Winter.
I like Summer & just don’t like Winter for too much snow but like the cold due to keeping the viruses away.
I enjoy all the season, for different reasons, but if I had to pick I’d say I enjoy the spring when everything’s budding out and getting pretty again.
Hi Amy, Summer can be a fun season. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Sylvain, We rarely see snow during winter, and it’s a big deal when it falls and actually stays on the ground for a short time. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Megan, yes, spring is a pretty season. Thanks for commenting. 😊
I love fall! The cooler weather and the changing colors. Although I hate to give up my flip flops! I do not like the heat and humidity of summer, or the extreme cold of winter. I like the rebirth of the earth in the spring, and spring flowers like lilacs and hyacinths are my favorites.
Hi Kathy, I’m not a fan of the extreme heat or cold, either. I’ll be dusting off my flip flops in the coming weeks, lol. Thanks for commenting. 😊
