Happy June!
One of the things I love about June–and summer in general–is the fruit. We’ve had some delicious watermelons, cantaloupes, and honeydew lately. And strawberries. So many sweet, delicious strawberries.
Do you have a favorite fruit?

Mary Preston says
I LOVE fruit, but alas we are going into winter here. So, it’s just apples, pears and citrus in season.
My favorite fruit has to be cherries.
The other side of winter we will start to see a wide variety of seasonal fruit in store.
Renate says
Hi Elizabeth! I enjoy summer and the variety of Michigan fruits. Michigan Strawberry season started this weekend. Purchased our first Michigan strawberries yesterday at Alex Veggies Farm Stand, my favorite farmer. Due to a cooler spring, strawberries are a week late. My favorite fruit are blueberries which begin around July 4. My mouth watered just thinking about the luscious varieties as we drove by several blueberry farms on Friday. I also enjoyed my first Georgian watermelon this week. Fruits are yummy and have so many health benefits. Enjoy your week.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Oh! Cherries are delightful. They’re not quite ready yet here.
Winter citrus is yummy too.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Yum! We’re past the pick your own time for strawberries here sadly but we can still get them in stores.
Ellie says
Blueberries are my favorite!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
My hubby loves blueberries – the boys don’t eat them though.
Trudy says
I bought some watermelon chunk last week, and they didn’t last long! I like a lot of different fruits, though I don’t buy them that much as they usually go bad before I eat them, since it’s just me.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
I’m so picky about watermelon. We’ve tried a few so far this year and they’ve been mealy.
Valerie Comer says
Cherries are probably my very favorite, but their local season doesn’t start until mid/late July around here. I’ll pit and freeze a lot of them for winter smoothies and oatmeal. Local strawberries (like from my garden) are still a week or two away — late this year but looking healthy and full of blossoms.
I’ve been going through a ton of blueberries from the grocery store the past couple of months. Those things are like candy to me. I grab a handful every time I walk by!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Cherries are a late summer fruit here too – I think we import most of them from the PNW.
Cindy Anderson says
I love nectarines, strawberries and boysenberry/blackberries in the spring and summer.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Nectarines are a definite favorite for me!
Natalya Lakhno says
Have a blessed Sunday!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
You too!
Alicia Haney says
Hi, for the summer my favorite fruits are watermelon and cantaloupes. Congratulations to all the winners. You all have a great week and stay safe.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
I do love a good watermelon.
bn100 says
like all fruits
Jessica B. says
Strawberries are definitely one of my favorites but there are very few fruits that I don’t like.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
👍
Elizabeth Maddrey says
I have a couple that aren’t favorites, but it’s still tough to go wrong with fruit.
Alicia Haney says
Thank you so very much Heather Gray, I just saw my name . :)
Lelia (Lucy) Reynolds says
I love fruit. Looking forward to my berries and trees getting ripe.
Trudy says
I bought chunks, already cut up, that were really good. If I buy a watermelon, it’ll go bad before I could eat it all. Honestly, even the smallest containers can go bad before I eat them all, so I don’t buy a lot of fruit. I should, and eat more than one helping a day!
Trixi says
I like all kinds of fruit! Strawberries are among the first ones we buy because we love to make strawberry shortcake with them. I especially love Tuscan melons, like cantaloupe but sweeter. We called the muskmelons back home in Illinois. Funny thing, just about everyone loves watermelon but I never have, lol!
Congrats to this weeks winners & happy Sunday everyone!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Congrats!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
How nice to have some of your very own!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
I love strawberry shortcake! I’m going to have to look for those melons. My youngest loves canteloupe.
Debra Pruss says
I will try this a second time. I love strawberries. Thank you so much for sharing. Congratulations to the winners. God bless you.
Lori Smanski says
Hope everyone had a fabulous Sunday. fresh fruit, especially berries are my favorite foods for summer time
Lilly says
My favorite fruit is strawberries but I love them totally natural or in strawberry cake but I don’t like the fake strawberry flavor of ice creams for example or some cakes with strawberry cream, either in juice, I love them totally natural. The same thing happens to me with pineapple (although I do like pineapple juice). My favorite fruit for juicing are citrus orange, tangerine, grapefruit and lemon.
When it comes to baking, my favorite fruit to work with are apples and plums.
Amy Perrault says
I enjoy bananas. We have fruit & veggies growing all around us in the country.
Ausjenny says
Forgot to get back to reply. (Had 2 cats on lap when looking earlier and cant do a thing with them both on me)
I am excited to be a winner thank you so much.
I like Pineapple. I love pineapple ice cream and pineapple on pavlova. On pizza, and ham and pineapple focaccias. (I also like Banana).
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Strawberries are wonderful
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Berries are definitely popular here today!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
The artificial flavors are never quite right. I agree with you.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
My youngest would eat bananas all day if I let him.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
I like small quantities of pineapple. I think I have a slight allergy to it. My mouth tingles.
