Welcome to August! I will confess I’m happy to put July in the rearview mirror. I hope those of you in the Northern Hemisphere are enjoying your summer, and staying cool if you’re dealing with extreme heat. My family spent July tag-teaming the catching of winter illnesses, including the one with cold symptoms that we all hope will disappear forever ASAP. I’m looking forward to spring next month, and an improvement in my overall health. So far this winter it has been cold, but we haven’t seen any snow where I live in Australia. If it does snow during August, which can sometimes happen, I’ll be sure to let you know.
August is always an exciting month at Inspy Romance because our Back to School Giveaway launches on August 15. Be sure to visit the blog, and stay tuned for more information.
I also have bunches of virtual flowers to share if you’re struggling with illness, difficult circumstances, grief, and other hardships. Grief is hard, and my thoughts and prayers are with many of my author and reader friends this weekend.
Paula Marie, friend to Christian fiction authors and readers, passed away August 5, 2022. She was best known as the founder of a review blog, Fiction Full of Faith, and absolutely loved sharing Christian books with others. Mary Preston says
Thank you for the virtual flowers, but I am in the middle of my hayfever season. Something is in the air July/August.
Ausjenny says
My condolences to all the friends of Paula Marie I know she was an admin in several FB groups I was in but I didn’t really know her as such. I know many here will be grieving her passing but are assured she is now out of pain in her heavenly home.
I have avoided most of the winter ills with just a few sinus issues. I hope August will be much better for you.
Renate says
Hi Narelle and Inspy Romance readers! So sorry to read about Paula Marie! My heart felt sympathy to her family, friends and the authors she loved. As a Midwesterner I agree with Mary Preston July / August has been rough due to hay fever, high temperatures, something is in the air. Lots of sinus drainage. Looking forward to cooler fall temperatures, especially since school starts soon in Michigan. Best wishes.
Narelle Atkins says
Hi Mary, you’re very welcome. The wattle is in bloom here, and I empathise with you regarding hay fever because I’m also having issues. I hope your symptoms disappear soon. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Narelle Atkins says
Hi Jenny, Thanks for your condolences. I’m glad you’ve stayed well over winter, and I’m hoping August will be better, health wise. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Narelle Atkins says
Hi Renate, We’ll all miss Paula. It’s interesting how other seasons can be just as bad as spring for hayfever. Summer storms are also a migraine trigger for me. I hope your symptoms ease and the cooler fall weather arrives in Michigan soon. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Trudy says
My heart goes out to all of Paula Marie’s family and friends!! I consider myself one of her friends, as we’ve chatted back and forth on PM’s on FB, she sent me cards at different times, and we loved going back and forth on her blog about authors! Some I read and found before she did, though most she found and read before I did! Paula will definitely be missed by many. Thank you for the flowers! I’d trade weather with you if I could! Florida has been hotter than usual, with our “feels like” temps in the 100’s most days. Though, praise the Lord, we haven’t had any hurricanes or tropical storms so far this season!
Alicia Haney says
My Heartfelt Condolences to all the family and friends of Paula. Congratulations to the winners. The weather here has been pretty hot and dry, we can certainly use some rain. Have a great week and stay safe.

Hi Trudy, You’re very welcome, and I’m glad you have precious memories of Paula to treasure. Feels like 100’s temps aren’t fun, and it’s good the storms and hurricanes have stayed away. I wish I could send you snow from the mountains here, lol. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Narelle Atkins says
Hi Alicia, I’d love to send you some of the plentiful rain from where I live, and I hope it rains where you are soon. Thanks for commenting. 😊

welcome today. hope your Sunday was wonderful. ours was good. we spent a lot of time after church talking to many people there. well the rain helped, really didnt want to run to the car in a down pour. thanks Jesus, we talked to many who just seemed to need a little extra attention that day. I too am glad July is behind us. But we still have to get through August that will be just like July, hot, humid and rainy.
