Arlington Lakes campground is one of my favorite places to camp in British Columbia. In August, we had a perfect site right close to the water where we could pull the kayaks up close to the travel trailer at night. This was the fourth time we’ve camped here, and we finally had the chance to throw the kayaks in the truck and stop at another little pond nearby, full of lily pads!

Our last evening at Arlington, it had been drizzling on and off for a few hours, but it was barely raining as the sky darkened. I couldn’t resist one last paddle with the loons! And from the other end of the little lake, I witnessed this amazing sunset. It wasn’t visible from the campsite because the trees and hill were directly west of us, but on the lake? I sat and watched until dusk had fallen, then paddled hard all the way back before it was too dark to see!

Love the sunset picture!!! When I graduated from high school, my SS class did a night trip out to one of the islands in the Indian River. We did a cookout for a senior thing. I loved being on the dock as the sun set. The moon lighted up perfectly across the water to the dock. Soooo nice!!

I have to say I love water lilies. We have a house on my walk to the shops (if I walk) that has a fish pond with water lilies. I love looking at them when I go past. It reminds me of holidays when we would visit mums father and uncle. The family home was a block from the botanical gardens and my brother and I and often the neighbours girl would walk there almost every day to play in the gardens and on the playgrounds (they had two). My favourite place was the Water lilies. I would spend ages just looking at them. (Maybe I was looking for a fairy or something as in Enid Blytons books) But I always remember them.

They are pretty!
