Sometimes life doesn’t quite go according to plan, am I right? My husband and I are nature-loving introverts, so for our 42nd anniversary on August 30, we thought we’d pack a picnic lunch and haul our kayaks up to one of our favorite mountain lakes. However, life had other plans, and we found ourselves in western Alberta helping his parents with a project.
But on our anniversary evening, we drove west toward the foothills and enjoyed a sunset. I love living in the mountains, but I must say, sunsets are one thing the flatlands do better in many cases!

I love the sunset photos. I use to have a good view of the sunset at my old place as the back door looked west onto the plains towards the small airport so would see some nice sunsets but where I am now there its harder to see as the house over the road has lots of trees and we are downhill and it blocks most of the colours.

Lovely photos, sunsets are so beautiful.
I hope your sister is doing better now.
Valerie Comer says
At home we have 3-4 miles open on the west before the mountains, so we get some nice ones. Not as many or as vibrant as on the flat land though!
Valerie Comer says
Thanks for asking, Ruthie! She’s home from the hospital but with a long road of recovery still ahead.

Love the pics!! I don’t get up early enough to watch the sunrise, and I’m usually inside doing something at sunset. The houses around me block both pretty well, though!! I do like to watch them when I’m not in the “city” as you can see them so much better!!
Valerie Comer says
There’s usually too much in the way in the city! I’m not big on sunrises either LOL. They come mighty early in the north in the summertime.

I am really grateful to Valerie! As an unemployed college student I don’t have much to spend on books hahaha but somehow I just realized that over time I have 3 books in your series thanks to the gifts from the blog.
Don’t worry, one day I’ll be a good buyer. In the meantime, I’ll help by teaching people I know what Christian fiction is. Unfortunately, in my country, many Christians don’t even know it exists.

nice photos

Thanks so much, Lilly! I hope you enjoy the ones you have. I know life has seasons and there have been lengthy seasons in my own life where I didn’t have money to buy fiction! Thankful for libraries… and interlibrary loans!

Thank you!
