Happy Sunday! We’re feeling the bite in the winter air where I live in Australia. It’s cold outside! I was out on the golf course with my son earlier today and the wind was icy. Every year in June I ponder the following question: Will it snow this year? We haven’t seen snow fall in my city for a few years. When it does snow, it rarely stays on the ground for longer than an hour or so. During winter we can see snow on the high peaks in the nearby Brindabella Ranges. The snow clouds are hovering over the mountains today. Does it snow where you live?
Happy Father’s Day to our American friends, and everyone who’s celebrating Father’s Day today. In Australia we celebrate Father’s Day in early September.

Happy Sunday to you all!
I’m in the South West of England – we get snow sometimes but not every year. We last really had snow the year my 7 year old was 2 – he loves looking at the pictures of him playing in the snow and hopes each year there will be more but he hasn’t been lucky so far.
Hi Ruthie, I hope he’ll see snow again and enjoy the happy memories. The best snowfall we’ve had in the almost 2 decades I’ve lived in Canberra was when my kids were small. The snow starting falling mid-afternoon and kept falling until the early hours of the morning. We rarely wake and see a snowy winter wonderland. Thanks for commenting. :)
It doesn’t snow in Florida, unless it’s a really cold winter! It has been known to happen in the northern part of FL, but it’s rare! There have also been flurries further south, but again, really rare!! I’ve never seen snow! I’ve seen slush, which is just not as much fun. A friend in TX had a white Christmas in 2020, I went out in 2021 and they didn’t have snow (and not much then!) until after I came home.
We might see flurries, but rarely does it accumulate. 1973 was the big exception. We had a blizzard and ended up with 17 inches of snow. We had more snow than some of the northern states at the time. Needless to say, our whole town shut down.
I live in South Carolina, and every few years we might get a storm strong enough to leave a few inches of snow. More often than not just just get an icy coating on things which is not fun!
I’ve never managed to be where it snows, either the week before or a few weeks after and living in Sydney not much chance of anything other than hail at the most. Growing up we never made the trek to the snowfields from SA, where I don’t think there has ever been more than a dusting on top of the Mount Lofty Ranges. Hope you are staying warm.
We usually get snow and more snow and more snow, from Nov-May where I live in northwest Minnesota. It says and stays and stays too. LOL 😂 And blows and blows too. Our car is worthless for much of our winter with our.open yard and long driveway and we have to use 4WD and the tractor to clear it out.
Happy Father’s Day to all who are celebrating. Yes, we get snow and ice in the winter. Congratulations to the winners. God bless you.
Hi Trudy, We’ve had slushy sleet and it isn’t fun at all. A white Christmas won’t happen here, lol. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Bonnie, A blizzard would be scary, especially if you’re not used to a lot of snow. 17 inches is a lot! Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Patty, The icy coating isn’t fun. There are certain roads I don’t like driving on frosty mornings because of the black ice. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Dianne, yes, I’ve never seen snow in Sydney, but I have seen snow in the Blue Mountains. Hail is not fun and, after the terrible January 2019 hail storm, we all rush to put vehicles under cover if hail is forecast. We have a -5C overnight temp expected in a few days. Typical Canberra, lol. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Katie, I can’t imagine living with that much snow for half of the year. Enjoy your summer and thanks for commenting. 😊
Hi Debra, Enjoy your week and thanks for commenting. 😊
