I don’t know if where you are has been unseasonably warm this past week like the DC area, but man, that flamingo floatie looks like the best thing going right now.
Every day, we’ve had heat advisories. Of course, this was the week our church did VBS. The kids didn’t mind all that much — there was lots of water involved in recreation — but man. So. Hot.
Then again, I’d take cold over hot any day of the week. Do you have a temperature preference?

I prefer warm to cold. and its been warmer than normal here too. for Winter its been very mild. We have had some cold days but over all its been warmer than normal. With the new home it won’t keep cool like this one so the real heat I will feel but I still prefer around 80 oh and here its fairly dry heat not humid so that is a plus too. I don’t do humidity I suffer with higher headpain than normal and I tend to suffer more but the dryer heat I do so much better.

Hi Elizabeth! Been a hot summer. In SW Michigan we received over 7 inches of rain this past week, so living on the shores of Lake Michigan we had high temperatures plus high humidity. This morning seems pleasant at 62 degrees, but will go up to 78. As a retiree, I prefer cooler weather. Due to meds need to stay out of the sun and heat. That is why I prefer spring, fall and I don’t mind winter. Blessed Sunday.

In Georgia, we have been under a heat advisory for several days, with our temperatures being in the mid to upper 90s and heat index makes it feel like anything from 103 to 105. My son has a lawn service, so he has to be out in the heat. I pray for him and everyone else who has to be out in the heat because of their job.

I’m praying for everybody who has been dealing with the heat lately – here in the UK it’s been cool and rainy and although I like a bit of sunshine I’d much rather this than the very high temperatures and wildfires that is happening across a lot of Europe at the moment, I see on the news about heat and wildfires in the US and Canada too.
I have Australian friends who have taken their kids there over the summer holidays so hopefully they’re having reasonable weather like you Jenny.
Happy Sunday to all.

Dry heat is definitely easier in my opinion as well. We’ve been running at 98% humidity (pretty typical for summer here) in addition to crazy heat. Super fun.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
78 sounds lovely!
I think everyone is a little hotter than usual in the states.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Ugh. Yes that’s the same as here. Yuk.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
I would love cool and rainy, but I imagine after a while it might get old. I guess we are inclined to look for other than what we have.
Trudy says
I much prefer colder weather!!! However, FL has been very HOT, HOTTER than normal! We’re under heart advisory’s as our “feels like” temps are 108 and up!! Even where I am, the “feels like” temp is 107, which means we aren’t under an “official” heat advisory. Even the water is much warmer than usual, and some on the news said people were saying the water felt like a sauna. In the Keys, coral reefs are dying because the water is so hot. People all say it’s global warming, I say the birth pangs are getting stronger!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Oh yuk. We’ve only hit the feels like of 102. Maybe it doesn’t matter once you hit that level, lol, but yeah.
Alicia Haney says
Here in west Texas it has been pretty hot and dry. At least this week I think the hight it got to was like 101 an it was for one day. The week before every day was in the triple digits the whole time, so right now it seems like we are having a cold front which is fine with me, it has been breezy though. I am ready for cooler weather, I am ready for fall. Have a great week.
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
Until this past winter, I would have said cold, but after moving to MT, cold took on an entirely new meaning. Now I don’t know. I like to be outside. At least on a hot day I can sit outside comfortably before noon. It’s never comfortable in the winter here. It’s really a tough call. LOL I like 75 and sunny best, but I don’t consider that hot.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
75 really is about perfect.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Does the “dry heat” actually work? I lean towards no on that but my husband (who’s from Nevada) insists it’s better.
Debra Pruss says
Happy Sunday. Have a blessed week. Thank you for sharing. God bless you.
Ellie says
Give me a cold day any day!
