Tropical Storm Ophelia is visiting me this weekend. I love the rain and wind (and it’s not terrible — 30, 35 miles per hour at its strongest). It’s good weather for lounging on the couch and reading. Or snuggling a boy and watching TV.
Or a little of both.
My boys were supposed to be camping this weekend with their Trail Life troop, but it was postponed. In all, I feel that was a pretty good decision. They’ve camped in the rain before, but no one has as much fun when they do. And the temperatures have dropped enough that being wet would be chilly and just a bit miserable.
I’m enjoying having them home, though I’d planned for it to be a writing weekend. Ah well.

Sometimes those rainy weekends make for the best memories!! And, we can all use extra downtime!! Enjoy your taste of a tropical storm! We get worse winds than those with an afternoon thunderstorm!! lol!!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Honestly we do too (the wind). Ophelia has definitely not been breaking our heart. Or shaking our confidence. (It’s a song. Cecelia. But Ophelia works. And it’s been in my head all weekend.)

I am now at the top of a hill and the house is on an angle to the block. (block is true north, south, east, west and the house is diagonal across the block) it means that the wind whips through and at times you hear the howling of the wind. When its windy its really loud and rattly.
An on my boy (cat) Henry there is a sighting near my old place so going to set a trap and the neighbour will drop him of if it works on way to work 6.30am. I hope to set it tonight.
Again thanks to all the authors for the back to school giveaway
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Oh! Praying that Henry is home soon!
Gosh the wind sounds fabulous but also probably frustrating long term :)
Debra Pruss says
So glad you are all okay. Thank you for sharing. Congratulations to this weeks winner. God bless you.

I found him yesterday went to take the trap and the neighbour let me know she has just seen him. he was on the front porch at the old place so I bought him home but he is so stressed and angry meowing. fights Libby. hes on my lap now and I did let Libby back in the area and he was fine till she started playing and then he was back to attacking. I feel so bad putting her in the laundry with access outside. She did nothing wrong. all night it was a nightmare. I got no sleep he did the angry meowing most of the time or banging etc. and when hes in attack mode that means me too. I think hes mad I abandoned him which I didn’t but in his mind I did. hes mad Libby was here the whole time. and stressed to the max.
