We’re inching closer to Christmas. Are your halls decked? Stocking hung by the chimney with care?
The Advent theme this week (the second week of advent) is Peace. I have always loved the name of Jesus “Prince of Peace” – I don’t know if it’s the alliteration or if there’s more, but what a wonderful thing to know that we can have peace through Christ.

the halls are decked as much as I can and I finished the tree yesterday. Ironically I was saying Libby was ignoring it. Well she did for over 10 days yesterday she was wanting to help and I had to keep distracting her. I think cos its in the main lounge room and I use the little one when its not really hot. (had a couple yuck days and then the last two have been like winter).
I have a stocking hung on a mantle but not a fireplace in this place.

Sounds lovely! And oh cats. Such little mischief makers :)

No halls decked here yet – we seem to have been dealing with one virus after another the past few weeks, but I’m hoping to get it done this week and next weekend.
My sister is currently in hospital (thankfully starting to improve) but any prayers for her quick recovery would be much appreciated.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Oh no! Prayers for health all around.

Absolutely

I’ve decided not to deck the halls this year. My busy season isn’t ending until Friday, and the thought of getting things out is exhausting! The thought of moving everything out, putting more stuff out, and then having to reverse it, is such not hitting me right this year, so I’m thinking I’ll just not do stuff. I’ll be going to visit friends for Christmas, and I know they’ll have all the decorations, and that’ll be good enough for me! Thank you for the Advent reminder!!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
That sounds like a fantastic plan. It is definitely ok not to decorate when it’s too much!
Debra Pruss says
We are not decorating this year. Thank you so much for sharing. Congratulations to this week’s winners. God bless you. Merry Christmas.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Sometimes it’s nice to just take it easy.

Thank you so much to Tara Grace Erickson for the giveaway! I’m excited about supporting an author’s store! ❤️
We’re not decorating much this year. The outside lights are up, and we have a small tree up & one nativity inside, but that’s it. We had a rough Christmas season last year & I’m just not feeling all the trappings of the season this year….I do need to get the kids’ Christmas stocking out though! That’s one thing I know they’ll miss 😆
