Is it too soon to say Happy New Year?
We have plans with our small group from church tonight, though I’m not positive we’ll end up awake when the clock chimes midnight. The older I get, the less important that seems.
I hope whatever your plans for this evening are, that you are facing the year ahead with joyful expectation of what God has planned.

I plan to stay home tonight. I’m pretty sure I won’t be up at midnight, but I’ll get phone calls wishing me a Happy New Year.
Happy New Year to all of the authors and readers!
Renate says
Happy New Year to Inspy Romance writers and readers. This retiree is in bed by 9 pm. Hubby and I celebrate New Year by Berlin, Germany time (6 pm in Michigan) with a charcuterie board of summer sausage, cheeses, crackers, and fruit. Best wishes in 2024.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Phone calls are nice as long as your phone is on silent :)
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Celebrating on Berlin time sounds perfect!
RuthieH says
Happy Sunday to you all – and happy New Year! My dream for tonight is all kids in bed and asleep, no one waking up sick and me fast asleep too long before midnight lol.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Kids in bed and no one sick is the dream for every night! :)
Trudy says
I’ll definitely be in bed at midnight tonight, as I’ll be driving to my oldest sister’s house tomorrow to spend time with her and her family, including most of her grandchildren!
Alicia Haney says
Good morning, I usually stay up until 12am, I like to bring the New Year in. My husband and I stay home with our pup, we will be having our daughter, son in law and our 2 grandchildren that live in our same town over for an early dinner, so that will be really nice, Then they will go home and celebrate in their own way. Our son and his little family live 6 hours away, so we will be calling them in the mid afternoon, tomorrow is also one of my brothers bdays, so I will be calling him for sure, he lives in Calif. and I live in Texas. May you and your Family have a Very Happy and Blessed New Year.
Bonnie Heringer says
Happy New Year eeveryone!! 🎇✨🎇 I like Renate’s idea of celebrating by Berlin time. May have to try that. 😊❤
Dianne K says
Happy New Year everyone!
The older I get the less I focus on New Years Eve and more on New Years Day and looking forward. The partying seems less important now than it used to and I prefer to spend New Years Day with loved ones.
Having said that because of where I live I am always awake to see in the New Year as those fireworks off Sydney Harbour are incredibly loud especially when you live close by! I hope you enjoy them if you see them and have a wonderful New Years Eve and New Year however you are guided to enjoy it.
For those who’ve had a tough year, congratulations on surviving it and I hope 2024 is kinder for you. For those who’ve had a better year, I wish you an even better year in 2024.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Oh fun! Definitely worth an early night.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
What a lovely celebration plan! Enjoy every moment
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Ooh. Fireworks over Sydney Harbor sounds amazing. Even though loud :)
Marina Costa says
We stay until about 3-4 a.m. Not really a party, but at home, with a nice festive meal and watching the festive TV programme.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
That sounds lovely!
Debra Pruss says

Happy New Year to you as well!

I didn’t ring in the new year. I tried to block it out. someone across the playground was having a party. I know they let of a few fireworks before midnight (not legal here) and I did see just after midnight but I got to sleep in. Don’t know how. Libby was on the bed around 4 but I had my own area and she didn’t try to get me up around 5 but let me sleep in to 6.20am.
Hope you got your quiet night.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Hugs. That sounds frustrating.
