Today’s post is coming to you LIVE from the Hyatt Regency at DFW and the American Christian Fiction Writers’ Conference! For the last three days, me and about 500 others have been learning all kinds of writing stuff, worshiping with others who get us and know the voices in our heads don’t mean we’re crazy, catching up with old friends, making new ones. And trying to convince editors and agents they like our writing enough to take us on.
It’s like a great big family reunion (though one where sometimes you’re not sure who that one cousin is… ;)).
Those of us who were here did get to have lunch together on Saturday, which was great fun! So nice to put names and voices with the faces we see online all the time!
All of today’s pics were taken at the conference. It really is today, too! It’s very early Sunday morning right now! I’m exhausted and my feet suddenly decided to swell way up, but I wouldn’t have traded a minute!
Back here in InspyRomance land, though, we’re having our big fall giveaway!
Be sure to check out the giveaways tab for the rules and restrictions!

Hi Carol,
Thanks for all the photos you’ve shared! It’s great to put a face to the names of some of my favorite authors. It also showed us that there is an exciting group of wonderful people who desire to truly use the gifts God has given them, so we can be blessed. Thanks! I’m glad you had a fantastic time!
Valerie Comer says
Thanks for the photos, Carol! How I wish I could’ve been there this year!

I have to know. Is this conference the inspiration for the CANDID conference? If so, are any of the characters inspired by actual people or events with the “names changed to protect the innocent”.
My wife and I both love your books and can’t wait for the next one.

Happy Sunday, Carol! I am loving all the photos you’ve posted here and from some of the other authors on Facebook. It’s ALMOST like being there, except I’m not :-) What a fun event for all of you authors to get together and talk about your books and learn a thing or two as well!
Congrats to all this weeks winners! I’m sure each of you will enjoy the books you’ve won! Last weeks posts were fun to read & comment on (as always). Looking forward another great week in the Inspy Romance land!! :-)

Wow Carol, it looks and sounds like you and many authors had a great experience. It is nice to be able to put faces with the authors I read. Thanks for sharing. Question: Who were the winners at the awards?

Thanks, Kathy!

Um, well, see, uh…
Yeah. Ya got me ;). CANDID is based loosely on ACFW :D. Any of the nice, cool people at the conference were probably at least partially rooted in real people. Any mean people were not ;).
Yes. Several of the events really did happen – like the misidentification in the elevator (more on that on Wednesday!) and the issues with the escalator and the heels after the bookstore MIGHT have been kind of sort of loosely based on something that happened to me (or it could be step by painful step reality ;)).
I’m working hard on the next one! I’m so glad you enjoy them!

Hi, Trixi! It’s always great fun! It’s like a great big family reunion – though sometimes you’re like “um… who’s that cousin? and which family does she go with again?!” ;)
Carol Moncado says
Stacy – it was wonderful! I’m sure there’s a list on the ACFW blog…I’ll look for it to link to on Wednesday :).
Carol Moncado says
We did! Never long enough, but always fabulous!
PJ Madsen says
Awesome! I won! Thank you, my friend! Hugs!

I smiled when I saw you’d won, PJ!
