We’ve got quite a lot of snow this past week. Unless we have unrelenting rain next week, it will be a white Christmas. You may think, “Well of course! You’re in Canada!” But that doesn’t make it a given. We had a brown Christmas last year and a couple of years before that.
How about you? Do you live somewhere that a white Christmas is usually expected? Or does the traditional color where you’re at look more like brown, green, or… what? I’d love to know!

Still very green here in England, it’s an unusually warm December. We’ve had a white Christmas only once in the nineteen years I’ve lived here, and that was very patchy white! I hope you can enjoy that snow. :)
I don’t generally think of England and white Christmas in the same thought. I guess for a reason! Merry Christmas, whatever color it is!
Last night I heard the long range forecast, we’ll have a rainy Christmas with temperatures in the mid 70’s. That’s unusual for this time of the year, even though we are in the South.
I love the vintage cards, Val.
Mid 70s seems very balmy! Merry Christmas!
A white Christmas is unusual where I live, but not unheard of. In fact the forecast as of last night called for mixed rain and snow the morning of Christmas. We’ll see. :) My boys are sure hoping for snow!
I hope your boys’ Christmas wish comes true! Merry Christmas!
Mechanicsville VA has had very warm weather lately. Lots of people out in shorts and t-shirts. The temps have changed in the past few days and there was even a freeze last night. The sun is shining today and the temperature is 42 right now. What a difference a couple of days makes for temperature changes! Merry Christmas!
I know a few people who seem to wear shorts no matter the weather! Merry Christmas!
I live in Henry, VA. We were in t-shirts last week, sweaters this weekend, and will be back in t-shirts by Christmas day. This is not typical Virginia Christmas weather!
We have snow here in Montana. We usually have a white Christmas. Have a wonderful Christmas!
We usually have a white Christmas too. I’m not so far from Montana. Merry Christmas!
No snow yet.. Maybe 50 degree’s for Christmas Day!
I’m enjoying the postcards :)
50 degrees doesn’t sound like snow weather! I’m glad you’re enjoying the postcards. Merry Christmas!
No snow in the upstate of SC! Snow is unusual enough here to be exciting. =)
Yes, I bet it would be exciting! Merry Christmas!
No snow on the Oregon coast & the temps have been pretty mild. Might sound strange, but I do wished there were a bit more of a nip to the air, after all it is almost Christmas….lol! We’ve just had a lot of rain (our normal) so I’m thankful we don’t have to deal with snow but every so often. Still have green in our grass although it’s a bit sparse this time of year & the pine trees make it even greener….though the other kind of trees have long lost their leaves. I grew up in Illinois, so this time of year I miss having a white Christmas (maybe for a day). It’s always so bright, clean and peaceful!
Loving the vintage postcards from your parents collection! I bet you re-live childhood memories through them every time you look at them :-) What a treasure your sisters & you have. Thanks for sharing them each week, Valerie!
Congrats to all this weeks winners. Looking forward to another week on Inspy Romance, still can’t quite believe it’s almost Christmas! Where has the time gone I wonder. May the light of Christ shine in each of our hearts this blessed season…..Merry Christmas everyone! **Raising a toast of hot chocolate with marshmallows**
One thing about rain: you don’t have to shovel it! But it’s also much gloomier than the sparkling white of snow. Merry Christmas!
I live in northern California. The weather has finally changed around here! It has been rainy off and on for a couple of days! Happy holidays Valerie!
Rain is welcome across the west where we had so many fires this year. Merry Christmas!
Green and brown as can be here in Ky. And it looks like it will be 65 for Christmas this year. Enjoy that snow!

Georgia is green and bare trees–and it’s supposed to be 75 here on Christmas day. Not normal! We did have snow on Christmas 3 or 4 years ago-it was much fun!
Christmas in central California can never be predicted. Sometimes we wear sandals, other times boots and tights. It looks like it’s going to be a cool Christmas this year, so I guess Santa’s going to have to put up his board shorts this year, and get out his britches!!? Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to all!!
