Here’s hoping you had a wonderful Christmas, celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior while surrounded by loved ones. In my family, we’re “doing” Christmas in three parts this year: an extended family day with my sister’s family on Christmas Eve, a quiet Christmas Day with a friend over, then our immediate family is gathering this coming week. More times to remember the most inspirational romance of all: God’s love for us.

On Christmas Eve, we were looking at old photos my parents had from their first Christmas. In one of the photos there were Christmas cards hanging on the mantel. I thought of your parent’s collection, Val. I wish my parents had saved some of theirs.
Happy New Year!

I have my grandma’s postcard collection, some dating pre 1900. You’ve given me the bug to dig them out and enjoy them again! Happy New Year!

Christmas with the grand-girl (and her mommy of course!), a nice ham dinner, pumpkin pie and a toast with sparkling cider, can’t ask for anything better! Now for a quiet week before New Years :-) I love the holidays, but I can’t wait for them to be over either!
A great week at Inspy Romance with another one on it’s way! Hope all your Christmases were spent with loved ones and good food :-)

Christmas cards were a Big Deal when I was growing up. My parents sent and received hundreds of them every year. My dad pinned up yarn all around the living room, sometimes two tiers, so all those cards could be displayed! No one sent photo cards then that didn’t have a fold. Not sure what my parents would have done with those!
Thanks for the memory :)
