Today’s photos are from one of my family’s favorite places to go camping, a small mountain lake in BC, Canada. There’s nothing like listening to a waterfall or the call of loons. Nothing like the peaceful palette of blues and greens in nature. Nothing like freshly-caught trout sizzling in a frying pan. Truly, getting close to nature brings my family closer to God.

Another new week:) My husband and I met through an outdoor adventure club at university, so camping, hiking, climbing, paddling…are pretty special to us and help us explore some pretty amazing places. Great photos, one day we will have to spend time exploring Canada, it looks spectacular.
Great photos Valerie. Reminds me of my travels: a cruise on Lake Winnipeg, the view from the balcony at Hotel Linderhof overlooking Lake Brienz (near Interlaken), and the mountains and pristine coastline in Wakayama, Japan. In Michigan one is never more than 7 miles from an inland lake and we are surrounded by the Great Lakes. On a beautiful spring Sunday morning one is thankful for all the wonders of God’s creation.
Loved your pictures. BC is on our places-to-go list. We were hoping to go soon but doesn’t seem likely anymore unfortunately.
Blessings on your birthday, Valerie. Enjoy the day with family and friends.
Thanks, Wemble. We spend a lot of time camping in our part of BC. It’s hard to want to go much farther afield when we have such spectacular scenery right here!
God demonstrated a wonderful imagination with the beautiful world He created for us to enjoy! I’m so thankful. for the beauty that surrounds me in nature every day. Thanks for the birthday wishes :)
BC would love to have you visit! If you ever get the chance to come, let me know.
I agree, Valerie. There is nothing that can compare to the peaceful, restful sound of a waterfall and the cry of loons. I enjoy enjoy the sound of a gentle, babbling brook.
Since I no longer live close to any waterfalls or brooks, I content myself with sitting out on the patio listening to the birds sing while watching the butterflies and the squirrels.
I can feel the peace and hear the gentle sounds. Thanks!
What a beautiful place to visit with your family. Happy Birthday, Val! Enjoy your special day.
Thank you. That’s really nice of you. We were planning for October but just decided today the trip will have to wait a few more years…
I’m so glad you had a blessed time with your family! I’ve only been camping only once or twice but my body can’t handle sleeping any where but my bed and even that’s questionable. The view is amazing and would make me give camping a second thought. Thank you for sharing such a gorgeous place.

Thanks Jill! This is a spot we camped at least once a summer when the kids were little, as it was about halfway between our place and my sister’s. So the kids have lots of fun cousin memories from there. Thanks for the birthday wishes :)
Hey Jenny, we used to do a lot of tent camping, but old age has caught up, and we now have a little holiday trailer with a queen bed, a fridge, and a bathroom. They were important in that order LOL. We rarely cook inside, even if it’s rainy. Love being in nature so much. Most of our camping is back in the mountains.
Beautiful picture! Looks wonderfully relaxing! Just looking at the picture makes me feel like I’ve just taken a deep breath of fresh air. Our family went to Colorado a few years ago and it was one of the most peaceful, beautiful, refreshing, relaxing times we’ve ever had.
Yay! Glad to provide that breath of fresh air!
Happy Sunday Valerie & also happy birthday!! :-) I can see myself sitting near that lake catching those trout, just enjoying the beauty God has created! And the duck family is beyond cute!
Congrats winners, looking forward to next weeks posts…always something good here on Inspy Romance :-)
Thanks, Trixi! So glad to have you here. :)
Loved your blog post, Valerie. I would love to see BC.
Always love BC! We have spent so many summers at all the lovely lakes there! It’s a beautiful and rugged province.
Come visit sometime!
As someone who grew up in Manitoba and spent a few years in Alberta, I understand. I’m so happy to call BC home! This Manitoba girl loves the mountains and ocean a lot. :)
