Welcome to August. I don’t know about you, but I am TIRED of summer. We’ve experienced day after day of upper ninety degree temperatures with the heat index above one hundred. All I have to do is walk outside and I start to sweat. I’d be happy for an eighty degree day at this point. Hopping into the cool waters above seems almost inviting–almost. This is a picture from my trip to Alaska with my hubby last year.
There’s so much going on today…
Hopefully our new header installed properly and you’re able to see LESS PINK. I like pink in moderate amounts, but this new design, which took us months to decide upon, adds more color and variety to our page. Don’t you think so?
AND NOW, I get the AWESOME privilege of announcing our semi-annual giveaway. We usually do this later (like in the fall, which is why we called it our FALL giveaway), but it became too difficult to get the February giveaway ready afterward, so we moved it to August, and it will henceforth be called the Back-to-School Giveaway. But before I get to the great books and prizes we’re giving away this year…
Are you a winner?
Julie Jobe and Priscila are the winners of their choice of available audio books by Valerie Comer from her post Listen! on July 22nd.
Teresa martin, Winnie Thomas, Priscila, and Wemble are the winners of a paperback copy of Small-Town Girl by Jessica Keller from her post Celebrating the Release of Small-Town Girl on Aug. 2nd.
Trixi Oberembt is the winner of an e-book of An Informal Introduction by Heather Gray from her post The Temptation to Kiss on July 28th.
Linda Herold and Trixi Oberembt are the winners of our monthly Amazon $20 gift cards.

Wemble says
Hi Ginger, will send some cool weather thoughts to you- is it humid where you are to add to the heat? Just saw that Love’s Choice comes out in September- yay:) I love the new header, it does add more colour and looks great. Well done Inspy team:)
Gingers219 says
Thanks for the cool thoughts, Wemble. Yes, humidity is a constant in Alabama. We think we’ve died and gone to heaven if it’s less than 50% humidity. :)
Thanks for the support. I’m excited and a bit nervous about having two books coming out next month, but it’ll all work out, I suppose.
And thanks for the compliment on the header. Valerie Comer designed it, and I think she did a great job.
Melissa says
I am ready for cooler temperatures, too. My husband laughs when the weather forecaster tells us that the chance of rain is 50%. That is true every day. haha! Yes, the new header looks great. :-) These prizes are wonderful! What a blessing!!!
Diana says
We’ve had some days in the upper 90s with high humidity. Now when it is in the 80s it does feel like a cold wave ! Thanks for the contest and all the prizes. There are a lot of them!
kaleen21 says
It’s been very hot but I am thankful for the cooler temperatures the last few days. Personally, I think winter was way to long so I won’t complain too much of the very few very hot days.
Connie Brown says
These sound like wonderful giveaways. I understand about hot temperatures. I is flirting with 100 here and the heat index is well over 101 at the least. I walk out my front door which faces East and I get knocked over with the heat. I would rather have a very cold day than a hot one but where I live heat is a constant. Looking for cooler temps with you.
Renate says
Good Morning Ginger! In Michigan we are finally have cooler temperatures (70s), unfortunately it is dry and still (no wind). We finally opened the windows for some fresh air. Next week will be hot with no rain.
Love the new Inspy Romance header with its mauve color, my daughter-in-laws and my favorite color. After raising 3 sons and having 2 grandsons, I am glad to see shades of pink and purple. Ginger we have some things in common – reading and crocheting. I just finished crocheting a baby afghan and hat in a lovely shade of mauve for our new granddaughter Seeley Rose to be born January 2017. That is why the new header immediately caught my attention.
Thanks for all the Inspy Writers for a fantastic Back to School giveaway. Now being retired, I have more time to show appreciation by writing reviews, following authors on social media, and sharing books.
maryvaneverbroeck says
Hi Ginger: The picture is beautiful. Maybe you have already talked about this trip since it was last year, but if not, I’m sure that your readers would like to hear about your experiences. I am new to writing fiction. I find the practice of ‘giveaways’ very interesting. I don’t know if I will ever enter these events since I need to have the ‘feel’ of the book in my hand. While I prefer hardback I am learning to accept paperback, but not mass paperback. Yes I guess that I am ancient. I look forward to reading more posts from this website. Take care. Mary
lori meyer says
Wow, that’s a lot of giveaways!! Yay, it is Sooo Exciting!! I have to agree about the weather, thank heavens it is cooling down! Take care!
Jill Weatherholt says
I’m with you, Ginger. The heat and humidity here in Charlotte is getting old. I’m really looking forward to some cool and crisp mornings.
Thank you for all of your hard work on the contest and blog.
Melynda says
That giveaway sounds great! Many books in it that I haven’t read yet. Our summer has fluctuated between being incredibly hot and incredibly stormy. Not a lot of good weather for my kids to play outside.
Linda says
The weather in Texas is bad, we have had up to 103 with high humidity.I am so ready for fall, my favorite time of year.
I am excited about the back to school giveaway, not that I need more books. lol
Ginger Solomon says
I’m glad you like the header, Melissa. You must live in Florida. I lived there for a few years and everyday had a chance of rain in the afternoons all summer long.
Ginger Solomon says
We do have a lot of prizes this time around. It makes me smile to give away so many books to our faithful readers.
Thanks for commenting, Diana.
Ginger Solomon says
I wouldn’t complain too much about a FEW hot days, but our electric bill is telling me it was more than a few. I wish we had some cooler temps, but then I know they’ll come soon enough. Everything has a season. :)
Ginger Solomon says
Thankfully my front door faces north–not that I go out it much. LOL With heat like we’ve been having, I stay inside A LOT.
Ginger Solomon says
Congrats on the new granddaughter. While I have two daughters, neither of them are overly fond of pink or purple. Of course, if you walk through my house, it’s almost all various shades of blue because that’s my favorite color. :D
Ginger Solomon says
Welcome, Mary. I’m not sure I’ve shared about my trip to Alaska here, but I have in a few other places. As far as giveaways, everyone has different ways of doing things. Giveaways are just one of those. Good luck in your writing endeavor.
Ginger Solomon says
It is exciting.
I keep thinking…it’s August, cooler temps are just around the corner, but that’s usually October for us, and then it’s fairly sporadic.
Have a blessed day.
Ginger Solomon says
Cool, crisp mornings… ahhh just the thought is refreshing. The mornings around here have been in the upper 70s with horrid humidity.
You’re welcome.
Ginger Solomon says
We haven’t had much rain. Our area is in a semi-drought, but the heat keeps us inside for sure. I have come to accept that here.
I’m glad you see some books in the giveaway that you haven’t read. A few of them haven’t even released. LOL
Ginger Solomon says
Shew… I think I’m glad I don’t live in Texas then. LOL My favorite time of year is a toss-up between Spring and Fall. I can never quite decide.
We always need MORE books. There are never enough books. I’m a book hoarder, at least until my husband says it’s time to clean the shelf. Then I frown and keep my most favorite and sigh over those who must go. A room in my dream home will be a library for all the books I want to keep.
Priscila says
I really like the new design (not that the pink version wasn’t sweet, but this colorful one is just really nice too). Not sure how long it’s changed, but I’d guess it happened quite recently because I don’t remember noticing it earlier.
I’m also speechless regarding the giveaway. Really!
Andrea Byers says
What a great bunch of bundles for the giveaway! I love the new design for the header. Weather here has been pretty good though we did have a thunder storm this morning. Thankfully it didn’t last too long into church service, lol.
Ginger Solomon says
You didn’t miss anything, Priscila. It happened overnight last night. LOL
I hope speechless is good. :D
Ginger Solomon says
I love a good thunderstorm–as long as I don’t have to go anywhere. I hate running errands in the rain and avoid it if possible.
Have a blessed day.
Winnie Thomas says
What a great group of giveaways! Thanks for the post and the chance to win! It’s been hot here in Utah, too–mostly 90s. I’m ready for a little cooler weather, but the summer has gone so fast, I’m not sure I’m ready for fall yet.
Ginger Solomon says
The summer has seemed to fly by despite the heat. I am ready for fall though–at least the cooler temperatures.
Trixi says
Oh my, I’m so glad I live on the Oregon coast where we have nice ocean breezes to keep us cool! I remember growing up in Illinois and how hot & humid (and dry) the summers got…whew!!
Your new banner is going to take some getting used to, but it sure is pretty :-) I almost hate to admit that I don’t care for pink all that much, haha! The new spruced up is nice and colorful!
What an awesome back to school giveaway! It’s so weird this year not to have a kiddo to register for the new year as my son graduated in June! I walk into a store and see all the back to school sales and it feels odd to walk right on by without putting anything in the cart. It’s going to take me some time to get used to for sure!
Here’s to another fantastic week on Inspy Romance!!
Tammy Francis says
The give away is exciting. Thank you to all the authors for doing this. ?
Ginger Solomon says
I could use a good ocean breeze. This is the longest I’ve ever lived in a land-locked area. I grew up less than an hour from the ocean, though I didn’t go much. Of course, we still have the Tennessee River meandering around us, but it’s nothing like living on the coast.
Congrats on your graduate. I have graduated four so far–three to go. Not having to buy b2school items is a bittersweet moment, I’m sure.
You have a fantastic week as well.
Ginger Solomon says
We are certainly happy to give back to our readers. We couldn’t be authors without you. Blessings…
Doris Lankford says
I know what you mean about the heat. It’s been pretty miserable here too, 90-100 for two weeks. Today, though, we have rain and temps in the low 80’s. Thanks for the great giveaways.
Ginger Solomon says
Low 80s—ahhh, almost heaven, especially if it’s paired with low humidity.
You’re welcome, and good luck.
lelandandbecky says
Only 7 am and it’s already 80 here and so humid that there is moisture on our windows! What a great giveaway with great books!
Ginger Solomon says
I know that feeling. Our authors write wonderful fiction. I can’t wait to read some of them myself, and the ones I have already read are wonderful. I’m a bit envious that I can’t win any of it. :D
Terirose22 says
Loving back to school prizes! Can’t wait to get back into a routine!
Ginger Solomon says
Me, either, Terirose. I do love my routines.
Beth Erin says
Goodness, I’ve missed you ladies! Setting aside a few hours to catch up on what you’ve been up to. Blogging is more time consuming than I ever imagined and I appreciate you authors taking the time to build community together and with your readers!
