There’s something romantic about summer. Perhaps it’s the extra daylight hours that allow for evening walks with sweethearts, or the abundance of fresh fruit, berries, and vegetables. LOL Yes, I think fresh food is romantic. Maybe it’s strolling through farmers markets, sitting outside in the shade reading, or concerts and movies in the park with your sweetheart.
I’m not exactly sure what it is that makes me feel like summer is a romantic time of year, but whatever it is, I like it.

This summer a group of authors and I re-released Love in Mistletoe Springs. It has a Christmas in July theme. My contribution in this collection is Brewed with Love. Inspired by my love of coffee shops. This new cover is especially special to me since my son, whose photo’s I often feature here, took the background photo. :)
I’m giving away one Kindle copy of this book. All you need to do to enter is answer the following by the end of today: is there a season you find to be more romantic than another and why? Or what do you especially enjoy doing in the summer? The winner will be announced 7/17/2016.

My favorite season is spring. Although, after sweltering in the heat and humidity during the summer, I look forward to autumn. Congratulations on your re-release, Kimberly!
I know for me, summer is about the least romantic season. All that sweat? Walking outside and finding yourself drenched in under five minutes from the humidity? And speaking of humidity, let’s not even talk about my hair from June through mid-September. Maybe it just depends on where you live. :)
I’ll take fall. Or spring. Or even winter. But I’ll happily donate my summer to anyone who wants it.
My husband and I live at the beach and we enjoy walking on the beach in any season. In the summer we especially enjoy reading on the beach, sitting in the sun (or shade) and listening to the waves.
Hi:) I love Autumn. Here, the trees are changing colour, we still have lots of daylight- so great for evening BBQ’s, picnics etc. It is still warm during the day, but the nights get a bit crisper. It is not as windy as spring, as icy as winter, and even though our summers are not humid, the extreme risk of bushfires/drought, that keeps everyone on edge. Blessings:)
I love fall with the pretty leaves, Bon fires, shorter days, and jeans weather.
Thanks, Jill.:) Spring is such a nice time of year.
Love it, Elizabeth! Yes, it really depends on where you live. The Pacific Northwest has very pleasant Summers most years. This year it’s been on the cool side and some tree leaves are already beginning to change colors.
That sounds wonderful, Michele. So romantic.:)
Wemble based on your description I’d say we live in the same region.
I’m with you Shannon, Fall is my favorite. I love the scent and the nip in the air.
I love Spring and Fall, it’s not so cold and not so hot. Enjoying a nice comfortable walk or sitting in the park chatting feeling the cool breeze is romantic.
That sounds very romantic to my way of thinking.:) when my husband and I were dating we took many walks lol it’s still a favorite thing for us.:)
I love the fall! Crisp air, beautiful colors and not so hot. My favorite thing about summer is the long daylight. I love that it starts getting light at 5ish and stays light til about 10ish!
I’m with you, Beth for all the same reasons. :)
I think winter is the most romantic season. Snuggling under blankets while talking or watching a movie.
I think Spring seems the most romantic to me. Spring brings such new hope! Everything turns beautiful again. After a long winter, you feel like getting out and enjoying the Spring days.
I love writing winter time stories.:)
For sure! I think spring is the Lord’s gift to us for getting through winter. I’ve written books for every season of the year because there can be an element of romance in each of them.:)
I definitely think every season has its charm (cliche, I know, but true). While summer is amazing because of everything we can do outside and stretch dates to the max, Spring brings beautiful flowers with hope blossoming everywhere, Fall has its charms in the yellow-orange-red colors and a bit chilly nights, and Winter is great for cuddling and enjoying time inside (near a fireplace would be a bonus).
Of course every season has a down part to it, which sometimes have ruined romantic dates too (Summer is too hot, Spring is the season of allergies, we’re always underdressed in Fall and sometimes need to cut dates short, Winter can be too cold to even want to move). I think it all boils down to who you’re with then to make the most of any situation.
Kimberly, last night I stayed up late to finish Sunriver book, A Love to Treasure.
I LOVED it! I’m from Oregon and I used to live in Redmond Oregon. Sunriver was always a fun place to stay. I could picture every place you talked about.
Now to answer your question about summer….I work at a school so the summers are my time to relax and read as many books as I can. I love sitting out on our deck listening to the waterfall in our back yard and just slowing down.
Thanks for writing sweet books!
Since my husband and I got married in December, and had our honeymoon in a mountain cabin (snowed in!), winter seems pretty romantic! I love reading a book in front of a roaring fire!
Any season is the most romantic if you are with the one you love. Each season has its own special appeal.
Fall is my favorite time of year. Cool, crisp air, leaves changing, camp fires ( it’s my favorite time to go camping too). Id always wanted to get married in October but when my husband finally proposed I chose August, afraid if I waited too long he’d change his mind, LOL! We will celebrate 35 years in August this year.
Hi,Marylin. You made my day! Thank you. I’m so glad you enjoyed the book and could picture the places mentioned. :) I work at a school too. But because I write, I don’t exactly get to take summers off. Your reading spot sounds ideal!
If I had a fireplace I think I would enjoy that too!
I agree, Sharon. :)
LOL. My husband and I were married in August too. Fall is my favorite time of year too.
Very good points, Priscila!
I love swimming at the lake in the summer. When I was a child we would move to the lake every summer, and I would spend my days playing in the sand and swimming. Now I don’t get to go often enough. As for a romantic season, I think it depends upon who you are with and what you are doing.
It sounds like you have some fun summertime memories, Tammy. :)
I would have to say both Spring and summers, as these are the seasons when weddings take place.
Hi Kimberly, I’m dreaming of summer, lol. We had snow flurries earlier in the week for a few hours (a novelty) and I’m thankful for winter sunshine today. It was warm enough for my husband and I to enjoy an afternoon tea date in the covered outdoor area of a teahouse :)
i think Spring is the most romantic season
For me, I can find something special about all seasons, but I would have to say Spring into early Summer I find the most romantic. New flowers, watching the birds and wildlife with their young, walking in the sunshine, and enjoying the sounds of the great outdoors. Yes and even the sound and smell of the rain. It brings a sense of wonder and gratitude for all the Blessings we are surrounded with every day.
An outdoor teahouse sounds really neat, Narelle, and romantic. :)
Spring is such a peer time of year.:)
I love spring flowers.:)
Most romantic season?? Maybe winter, it’s cold outside and you can cozy yourself up to your spouse to keep warm :-) But then I think of June, that’s when most weddings happen. So that could be a romantic season too. Or autumn, where you can bundle up and maybe go outside to your firepit and have a cup or two of something hot (cider or chocolate) while snuggled up. I think any season can be called romantic if you find special things to do with your loved one, don’t you?
We don’t do a whole lot during summer as my husbands job is in the motel business, so it’s very busy for him. We like to do things on the off season when it’s slower and not many tourists, September through about November when we go to my sister-in-laws for Thanksgiving.
