An author is supposed to write what she knows, right? At least, that’s what I’ve always heard. But, have you ever wondered how much of what an author knows is put into her story? Is the whole story made up of what she knows? Surely not! Otherwise, we wouldn’t have all those fun research stories and fears of what people might find in our search history.
So, today, I thought it might be fun to play a game with you and see if you can figure out some of the things in my stories that are based on my real-life experiences. And some of them that aren’t. Are you up for the challenge?
So, how did you do? Did you know all the answers? Learn anything about my books … and me? Want to know more?
I was right half of the time! and how could I get the pet one so wrong! I had fun with the quiz and I did learn some things about you.
Happy Thursday Amy! 70% not bad. Also missed the pet one, plus the Christmas one. I read the anthology. Need my morning coffee. Just woke up. As a retired pastor’s wife, who tried her best to buffer my sons from critical parishioners, I understand pastors’ kids. Thanks for a fun interactive activity. Best wishes.
I only got half of them right. 😂
I missed 3 for a 70%. Not too bad.
80%! I try to make everyone an introvert, like me, and the dog/cat debate hasn’t really come up, lol!! Sometimes it’s even MORE fun to write the unknown – more research!! 😘
50%! Some I really had to guess (I wasn’t sure what jobs you had done, but assumed you couldn’t have done ALL the ones you write about lol). I did get write that you had experienced infertility – I know people can write about things they have never experienced, but I thought you must have done to capture the emotions the way you do.
It was a fun quiz, I enjoyed it, thank you!
I only missed three, so 70% here! This was fun! I did get the pet question wrong, though I’m a cat person myself. I like dogs, too, though I don’t want either one!
I got 50%. This was so clever and fun and yes, I did learn a lot about you and your books! Thanks for a delightful post.
I did not do so well. Only 40%. 😔 But it was fun and I did learn a lot about you and your books. Thank you.
80% it was fun and I did learn a lot about you and your books
Hi Trudy I got the pet one wrong too and I too am a cat person but most of the authors seem to be dog people (I know Val has Coonie and we learnt a dog,) I know Narelle has a cat and Elizabeth a dog and I know Deb likes dogs.
70%, and I haven’t read any of your books–but now I want to! Fellow PK here. I should probably start with that book. ;)
Hi Amy,
That was fun! I got 70% right, which surprised me because I thought I got more wrong.
Hi, Amy! 70% seems to be the popular score :o) That was my score as well! Thanks for telling us more about yourself.
So glad you had fun! Thanks for playing. :)
You did very well for doing it without coffee! Great job!
Half is pretty good. Thanks for playing.
Not bad at all. Thanks so much for playing.
You did pretty good. Though I don’t think I knew you were an introvert.
Sounds like you guessed well. :)
And yes! That would be an awful lot of jobs to have worked!
70% is great. Too funny that the cat question seems to be throwing more people off than others.
So glad you enjoyed. I hoped it would be fun for more than just me. :)
It’s okay. The whole point was to have fun!
Great job! So glad you enjoyed.
I hope you enjoy! Always glad to meet another pk. Thanks for playing.
Good job! Glad you enjoyed.
Congratulations. Thanks for playing.
interesting quiz
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
I had 70%. I did learn more about you and your books. Thank you. God bless you.
Thanks for playing!
100% . Fun quiz !!
Great job! Thanks for playing.
Lol, the ones I knew were correct. The ones I guessed were all wrong. Seriously I’m a bit baffled by chips in tomato sauce or gravy, what the??? Can we have a character who loves salt and vinegar pls??? Thanks for the fun !
Glad you had fun! But I think I too American to like vinegar on my fries. 😂
