Book recommendations can be a tricky thing.
I’ve found some of my favorite reads and authors that way.
But I’ve also seen recommendations that I can tell at a glance don’t fit me.
What’s the difference?
My favorites tend to be targeted recommendations, where the giver takes the time to listen to what I’m looking for before offering suggestions.
As an author, I try to be careful about when I recommend my own books. I write emotional stories that explore deep questions, and those aren’t for everyone—a fact I know because even I like to read humorous or lighter but still heartfelt stories at times.
So today, I’ve questioned not one or two but FOURTEEN Inspy Romance authors about their books so that today’s post can help you find your next favorite read, even if it doesn’t happen to be one of my books.
Below, you’ll see 3 different infographics full of questions about your tastes in a story, narrowing down the fourteen contemporary romances to one, personalized match.
Keep in mind, though that there is some overlap, and these characters and stories are richer and more layered than I could convey in such a limited space. So, don’t be afraid to look around a bit and read the full description of any stories that look interesting to you! I’ll put links to each at the end of the post.
The graphics are divided by mood, to proceed, you have your first choice to make:
Would you prefer to read something more emotional, more heartfelt, or more humorous?
Once you’ve chosen, proceed to the graphic with the header that matches your choice!
Now that you have your recommendation, it’s time to shop! Click on the covers to grab a copy and start reading!
I had to change my first choice as right now I don’t feel like North or South. So ended up with Her Christmas Redemption by Toni Shiloh. That sounds good to me.
I have actually just finished Narelle Atkins new book and have started a Historical. Next up will be another set in Washington state then Valerie’s new book coming out next week.
Thanks for reading so many Inspy Romance authors! Sounds like you’ve got great reads lined up!
Yes at the moment and as we are having a heatwave will probably get more reading done (Although at 7am its cold outside temp overnight was very low around 42 but going for around 100+ today. I know when the sun is out it will start rising but right now I have the house all open to cool it down for the heatwave ahead
I was paired with A Half Made Whole by K. Leah. I own that book and I have read it and enjoyed it.
Well look at that! I’m glad to know the matching process works, though I’m sorry you didn’t end up with a new suggestion through it this time.
Hi Emily! I paired with a book in each category that I have read before. Valerie Comer’s A Wide and Pleasant Place with a setting similar to our agricultural community in SW Michigan. Elizabeth Maddrey’s A Heart Restored because this Oma can be sassy, plus while living in Chicago I was intrigued with restoring homes in old neighborhoods. Heather Gray’s Nowhere for Christmas is the ultimate road trip disaster. Emily, thanks for taking the time for a fun, interactive blog. So much to read, so little time. Best wishes.
You’ve read them all! You must be an avid reader. Thanks so much for supporting so many Inspy Romance authors this way :)
I got Husband Auditions. I haven’t read it but it sounds great and it has a really fun cover.
I want to read that one too! It sounds so fun!
I went for humor first but I read all of those so I checked the others. I’ve read almost all of those as well but there are 3 I haven’t, so yay me!
You’re very well read! I hope you enjoy one of the new ones!

Sounds like you’ve got some good ones waiting for you on your Kindle! Maybe the quiz will give you a place to start. Thanks for reading so many Inspy Romance authors!
I’ve read two of the books, and I have a whole more of them in my TBR stack!!!
I hope you find some new gems to love among them! Happy reading!
I went for heartfelt, sassy, protective. East coast which took me to The Breakup Project by Carolyn Miller. I have the book, but have not read it yet. Every time I pick a book to read next, I find 5-7 other books that look really good, too. So, I download them and then have to decide which book to read next. 🤷♀️ Is that a form of adult ADHD?
I have the hardest time picking my next read too! The Breakup Project looks really good to me though! I hope you enjoy it!
I matched up with Nowhere for Christmas. I have not read it as of yet but will.
Doesn’t that one sound fun? I hope you enjoy it!
I have read Molly and Retying the Knot, but I plan to check out others (especially ones I already own). It was fun seeing them described in a different way. :)
Seeing them described differently was part of the fun for me, too. I’m so used to seeing covers, blurbs, and maybe some of the tropes. I hope you find something you really enjoy among them!
Retying the Knot by Liwen Y. Ho, which is funny because I actually just finished reading that one! I really enjoyed it!
Ha! Well, I’m glad it at least brought you to a winner, even if it’s one you’ve read before. That series sounds interesting to me too.
I was paired up with To Bring You Back, it sounds and looks like a great read, and no , I have not read it yet. I will definitely have to check it out! Have a great week.
You clearly have excellent taste if you were paired with To Bring You Back! ;) I hope you enjoy it if you decide to give it a read!
I think this is good at coming up with a match – the first time I got Liwen Y Ho’s ‘Retying The Knot’ – I’ve read it and really enjoyed it as I have all of her books I’ve read. My next match was Sarah Monzon’s ‘Molly: Nanny’s don’t fall for single father bosses’ which I will definitely add to my TBR list, thank you!
Doesn’t Molly look so cute? I hope you love it!
I’ve actually read quite a few of these books. Husband Auditions is one of my favorites. It’s so funny but also has a lovely message and faith thread.
Oh, I definitely want to read that one!
I was matched up with NOWHERE FOR CHRISTMAS – a new one for me.
I hope you like it if you give it a try! It sounds entertaining!
I got Retying the Knot! It looks really cute
That’s a popular one! I’ve heard good things about it. I hope you enjoy it.
I have read 2 of the Books I love reading any genre as long as it is a print book!
I generally prefer print books too!
I can be a mood reader. I have fit into all the categories at one time or another. I was not able to figure anything out today. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you.
I’m a mood reader too! I hope you’re able to find just the right next read. Thanks for stopping by!
haven’t read these yet
I hope you found some suggestions that interested you!
I haven’t read Husband Auditions yet and really want to!
It sounds so good!
There’s a couple I was matched with but I most want to read Sarah Monzon’s: Molly: Nannies don’t fall for their single father bosses. I love her books so am excited to find this one.
It looks so cute! I’m glad you found a good match!
My match was A Heart Restored. I haven’t read it yet. There are several other books that look interesting to me as well. I guess I have to start a Wish List !
I hope you enjoy A Heart Restored—and any others you try! Some of these are in Kindle Unlimited, if that helps at all.
So many stories – so little time…
So true!
