Hello Readers! Today, I want to talk about something that we all encounter at some point in our lives: the need to pivot. Whether it’s in our personal journeys, career paths, or creative pursuits, change is inevitable. And sometimes, having a Plan B becomes essential.
Life doesn’t always follow the script we’ve written. Unexpected challenges, shifting circumstances, and new opportunities can throw us off course. But here’s the thing: pivoting isn’t a sign of failure; it’s a sign of adaptability and resilience.
Think about it – even the most successful businesses and individuals have had to pivot at some point. They’ve had to reassess their goals, rethink their strategies, and sometimes, take a different path altogether. And you know what? That’s okay.
The same principle applies to our writing. Our characters, like us, need to evolve and adapt to the twists and turns of their journeys. They may start out with one goal in mind, only to find themselves facing unforeseen obstacles or discovering new desires along the way. And that’s where the magic happens.
As writers, it’s our job to guide our characters through these moments of change and transformation. We have to be willing to let go of our original plans, embrace the unexpected, and allow our stories to take on a life of their own.
So, the next time life throws you a curveball or your characters refuse to stick to the script, remember this: it’s not about staying on the same path; it’s about finding the courage to pivot, adapt, and write the next chapter of your story.
Have you ever had to pivot in your own life? How did it turn out? Share your experiences in the comments below!
And before I go, I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to all of you wonderful readers and fellow writers at Inspy Romance. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m grateful for every moment we’ve shared together. Keep spreading love, hope, and inspiration through your words.

My biggest pivot was when I became Mom’s full-time caregiver, and stopped working outside of the house in offices. I had to find a job I could do from home, and managed to find one, and as my own boss! Then, God dropped my dream job in my lap in January of 2020, so I have two careers now that I love, and that pay my bills!

I had a career change pivot about 15 years ago, a completely different path from the sort of job I had originally trained for but it has been a very positive change. I think that feeling you describe of something really not working out is a great time to pray for God’s guidance in moving down a new path He has for us, trusting in His grace.

All the time. Rarely is life ever straight and narrow, lol! I set the goals for my life and then it’s a matter of being diligent and aware so I can recognise God’s grace when the opportunities present themselves. Quite often the opportunity is not in a way that I would have thought of so focusing on the goal means I am able to be flexible and adjust to the opportunity and that’s what I think you mean by pivoting. What a great post, it never occurred to me that others might not pivot, but maybe that’s a strength of mine that comes from being neurodivergent. Have a great weekend!

Thank you for all that you have done over the course of time for Inspy and all of us readers. Yes, I have had to pivot many times. I have found that usually, it is the Lord showing me that His way is the best way. God bless you.

Its been nice getting to know you also. all the best for the future.
about 11 years ago I started having daily head pain. I actually think it started the year before after having to go to hospital due to blood loss and almost dying on the operating table a few times. If I look back that is when the head pain started bad but it was the following year it went from OTC meds helping to nothing helping. Life changed and hasn’t gone back to pre pain. I use to read around 120 books a year now 20 is a good year. Its not that I don’t want to read its more that due to the head pain I tire easy and at times I struggle with reading due to this. I still cant go to things like movies due to the noise.
